The Global Convoy an idea that hatched from the Mongol Rally rewind on streets of Moscow, by Max and myself. The idea was simple take the worst cars we could find and then see how far around the world these cars could car us. The difference was would make it an open invite for anyone to join us on any section of the Global Convoy in our cars or to bring their own car. That was a vague plan we then gave ourselves 6 months to organize ‘everything’ or our case basically nothing.
Max teamed up with old school friend Becca Marsh to buy a Skoda Felicia for £75, while I found yet another Micra for £150. I made some changes to the Micra to get it in to reasonably good state for the fast approaching trip. This included changing all brakes, filters, parts of the suspension and fog lights.
A week before the Global Convoy left the United Kingdom we shared the adventure to everyone through Facebook and that was it we had hundreds of people try and joins us.
Here is a brief explanation of the Global Convoy, more videos can be find on their Youtube.
